organization was formed by a group of medical professionals with the sole purpose of
alleviating suffering of Somali people lacking healthcare services and also to respond
emergencies and disasters in place under the principles of Neutrality, Independence and

Emergency Medical Care
Providing life-saving treatment during wars, natural disasters, and outbreaks.
Surgery and Trauma Care
Operating on war-wounded, accident victims, and people in crisis zones.
Maternal and Child Health
Safe deliveries, prenatal care, vaccinations, and nutrition programs.
Treatment of Infectious Diseases
Including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, cholera, malaria, and Ebola.
Malnutrition Programs
Screening, feeding centers, and therapeutic food for children.
Mental Health Support
Psychological first aid and counseling for people affected by conflict or disaster.
Support for Refugees and Displaced People
Mobile clinics, water, sanitation, and shelter-related healthcare.
Health Advocacy
Speaking out against neglected crises, lack of access to medicine, and human rights violations.
Capacity Building
Training local medical staff to strengthen health systems in vulnerable areas.

What’s it like to work with MSF For Somali Speakers?
Each year, thousands of international staff of all nationalities carry out field assignments working with around 50,000 staff hired locally to give lifesaving medical and assistance to
people who would otherwise be denied access to healthcare, clean water and shelter.
